- Identify business requirements: write specifications for project planning, based on functional requirement interviews.
- User analysis, persona development, user path and wireframe creation to define the information and data structure for the website. I follow a user-centred approach.
- Work with development, design, editorial and testing teams to plan and implement the best solutions within the project scope.
- Liaise with technical teams to integrate website development with other back-office systems.
- Quality assurance: work closely with the team and client to ensure usability, web standards and other success criteria are met (which are determined during project planning).

In May 2011 I moved back to South Africa, having spent two years in Germany and another eight years in England and Ireland prior to that. Since my return to South Africa I further developed my jewellery making business, but am beginning to search for full-time employment again

Employment history
Business Owner for Tangentine Craft, Germany, August ’09 – May ’11
Tangentine craft was a private venture where I sold my handmade jewellery online. I gained a practical understanding of client requirements for social media and marketing, employing these techniques and platforms to market my own company.

Note: Due to work permit restrictions and the language barrier I was unable to pursue a professional position in Germany – hence my pursuit of other interests, including making and selling jewellery.

Gekko used a complex algorithm modelled on community hotel and restaurant needs and matched them up with restaurants and hotels.
